Summer Time for Summer!

Hello all! After much contemplation and deep thought, I have decided to join the masses and create my own blog! I absolutely love looking at all of my siblings blogs and feeling like I can catch up on their lives with a single click, so I figured I should do the same! Today's technology is so amazing, and I don't see why it should not be taken advantage of!
So, as you all know, I have just completed my first year at Brigham Young University, and am home for the summer. Maybe Mom and Dad have mentioned to you while I wasn't around to hear that I have done very little so far and am biding my time by sleeping a lot and watching the Office, but let me tell you, that is only partially true. Yes, it is true that I have taken a liking to sleeping in, and I have been catching up on all of the episodes of the Office that I have never seen, BUT I do a great deal more than that, and I would dare to say that so far my summer has been quite exceptional. We'll start at the beginning, a very good place to start...

#1 Event of the summer- I began working at Lassen's a week after I got home and did so for about 2 and a half weeks. I quite earlier than expected because I took over mom's vocation for a week while she was in Baby Heaven where all the newest babies are (aka:Utah). So, teaching piano lessons was very fun, and MUCH more enjoyable than working in the Deli.

#2 Event of the summer- To my great joy, I got a call from my dear friend Carson Wright telling me that he was coming down to Disneyland with his brother and sister in law, Danniey and Tyler, and asked if I could come spend a day with him at Disneyland! And so, I went to Disneyland where I had an absolutely amazing time with Carson! To top it off, we ate at the Blue Bayou (the restaurant inside Pirate of the Caribbean) which was exceedingly nice.

We love our friend Billy!

Carson was ridiculously excited to meet Ariel. She was beautiful.
This will be our engagement picture when we get married when we're 55.

#3 Event of the summer- The following week, Aurora and her family also came down to spend a few days at Disneyland, so because I had gone the week before and purchased a 2few 1, I could get into California Adventure for free! So, I went down to Anaheim again the next week and spent a day at California Adventure with Aurora and her family and had an amazing time!

#4 Event of the summer- Because Julie Bell (one of my best friends) did not attend her Senior Prom this year, her parents decided to buy tickets to go see Wicked for both Julie and me. Very generous, I know. So, Julie and I decided it would be even more fun to take dates along with us, and since Julie is currently dating Lance Malan, returned missionary who served in London, England, she especially wanted to take dates. The only problem was that they could not afford to buy tickets seeing that they are outlandishly expensive, but then we remembered the Wicked Lottery! Every night 2 hours before the show, they have a lottery at the Pantages in which they draw a certain amount of raffle tickets and give out $25 tickets to Wicked. It is a great deal, and we hoped that luck would be on our side so we could win our boys some tickets. After each of us entered our names, we waited with baited breath, hardly being able to stand the suspense. The other thing about the lottery is that for each name they draw, they give away 2 tickets, so since all 4 of us put our names in the raffle, ultimately had the chance to win 8 tickets. Anyway, they began calling the names, and to our dismay, they were down to the last name and none of our names had been called. As we waited for the last name to be announced, our hopes were pretty much shattered, until suddenly, we heard my name being called from the microphone! With a jump and a shout I skipped my way up to claim my tickets, and that is how all 4 of us got to see Wicked for a killer price. Needless to say, it was amazing, and my new goal in life is to play Galinda on Broadway. They always say to set your goals high right?

#4 Event of the summer- The following week I took my best friend Kadie down to the Pantages for her birthday to try and win us some tickets to see Wicked since she had never seen it. Unfortunately, luck was not quite as strong that night, but we did manage to win one ticket after some weird things that happened with a winner only wanting one ticket so they were all off balance. Anyway, we had Kadie a ticket, but I was still ticketless. However, apparently they sell tickets at the Box Office the night of for half off, so I picked myself up a ticked for $45 and got to see Wicked for a third time. Amazing.

#5 Event of the summer- Well... there is not exactly a #5 event, BUT I have been doing lots of fun things on the side, like making my way through the collosally huge novel The Count of Monte Cristo, going out with the sister missionaries, practicing the guitar lots, and enjoying my new calling as Primary Chorister. Ultimately, I love being home and I look forward to starting my summer job as camp counselor at Camp Kinneret on June 16.
